The Invention of Lying

After my fun filled day, I decided to relax to a movie that I have been meaning to see.  I managed to catch The Invention of Lying, thank you fancast!

It was a very cute movie. I was slightly surprised since I heard a lot of mixed reviews. It makes you think about what the world would be like if no one knew how to lie. While we are taught honesty, is the best policy, we also like to keep things to ourselves at times. In the movie, if they were asked a direction question, they would answer it. In theory, I am sure you could answer, ‘Id prefer not to say’ but we wouldn’t have a movie if that was the case.

Sometimes it’s the cute films that seem to have no substance whatsoever that can be very thought provoking. I suggest checking it out as long as you don’t expect something epic!

Religion & History

Lately, I have noticed a lot of controversial issues revolving around 9/11. The big one that has popped up lately has been burning the Koran. A minter in Florida decided this might be a good idea to do a book burning. Thank God, he did come to his senses.

I wish that people would read the things that they are so against. In the Koran, they do not talk about acts of terror that have been done to multiple countries throughout the world because a small number of people do not believe in what they do. Through out history, we have seen extremists that has punished people for their religious beliefs…the Crusades and the Holocaust to name a few. It doesn’t seem as if we are learning from our mistakes. It is repeated over and over again with no end in sight.

We are appalled at things that were done in the past, yet we continue to allow history to repeat and try to rationalize it to make it acceptable behavior even though deep down, we know what we do is wrong.

If we could just lose the hate and try to accept people for who they are, the world would be a much better place!

It's been a few years since I have blogged and I'm back and ready to jump right in feet first. A lot has happened in the past years and I've lost sight on some of the things that I enjoyed. Blogging, is one of those things. Keep checking back for new entries. As things comes up that are of interest, I will post them up. :)
